Careers connected to glass art and decorative making
Glass-related work can include decorative-art production, studio assistance, mosaic making, exhibition support, product development or creative enterprise. These are examples of adjacent areas, not promised jobs. Opportunities depend on a person's portfolio, experience, the employer's needs and the safety requirements of each process.
A useful portfolio shows your visual research, sample development, finished work, process documentation and accurate material descriptions. Identify work you made under supervision, and do not claim competence in a process unless you have the required training and authorisation. Structural glazing, installation and safety-critical fabrication require applicable training or authorisation and qualified, project-specific review.
Kenyan glass studios such as Greenthing and Kitengela Glass offer examples of creative practice. If you want to study glass arts at KENCID, contact Admissions for course details. Explore the existing Sculpture and Product Design pages to see related areas.
