Safety questions before composite or mould-making work
Composite and mould-making work can involve dust, resins, solvents, heat or other process-specific hazards. Before practical work, ask for the approved risk briefing, material safety information, ventilation arrangements, protective equipment, waste procedure, tool authorisation and named supervisor. Confirm that the activity is covered by the facility's current controls.
Do not mix, heat, sand or dispose of materials based on an online recipe. Stop and ask the instructor if a product, label or instruction is unclear. A safe activity depends on the exact material, amount, equipment, space and learner experience.
Use this checklist alongside a risk assessment and the manufacturer’s instructions. Explore KENCID’s Fabrication course for adjacent technical training. Your Composite Fabrication course practicals do not authorise you to perform hazardous processes independently.
