From glass-art idea to a documented studio sample

Illustrative scene of learners exploring Glass Arts & Craft in a bright studio

Start a glass-art project with a brief that names the intended audience, setting and visual question. Collect references, sketch different compositions and compare how light, transparency, colour and texture affect the idea. Keep the sources of visual references with your notes.

Before producing a sample, check what methods, materials and supervision are approved in the studio. Photograph the work at key stages and write down the decisions that changed the result. Ask a peer or instructor to critique the piece, then show a revision or explain why you kept the original direction.

Separate your artwork from claims about performance. A small decorative sample does not certify a building component. KICD’s Creative Arts curriculum gives general arts context; explore KENCID’s Sculpture and Product Design courses alongside Glass Arts & Craft.
