What should a materials innovation curriculum cover?
When you review a materials-focused design course, ask how you will move from a question about a material to evidence you can explain. Look for a defined use case, sample records, controlled comparisons, prototyping and honest limits. Ask which facilities and supervision support each process, and which tests fall outside the course scope.
Also verify the award title, entry requirements, duration, awarding body, campus, intake and total fees directly with the provider. A short workshop, a product-design course and a formally approved qualification may have different purposes and recognition. Do not infer accreditation from a course title.
The University of Nairobi's Product/Industrial Design page describes how users, products and production methods connect; NITA's textile institute gives you another Kenyan training example. At KENCID, Materials Innovation & Product Development lets you focus on material research and product prototyping.
