Careers connected to model making and composite fabrication
You can use model-making and composite skills in areas such as product prototyping, display and prop production, sculpture assistance, mould preparation or fabrication support. These are related work areas, not guaranteed jobs. Check what workshop experience, material training, safety credentials or qualifications each employer expects.
A portfolio should show accurate drawings, models, process planning, supervised samples, observation records and revisions. Be specific about the materials you handled and the tasks you performed. Do not claim competence to manufacture safety-critical products or carry out hazardous work independently without the required training and authorisation.
The University of Nairobi's Product/Industrial Design page gives you a local product-development reference. Check programme details with each institution and, where applicable, use the TVETA courses directory. At KENCID, explore Product Design and Fabrication alongside Mould Making, Model Making & Composite Fabrication.
