Recycled glass art in Kenya: from material story to product brief
Recycled glass gives you visual and creative possibilities, but make the material story specific. What kind of glass are you reusing? Who prepared it? What checks must you make before you handle or shape it? Choose a suitable low-risk product for your design brief and identify the supervision its process requires.
Keep environmental claims proportionate to the evidence. Reuse does not by itself prove that a finished product has a lower impact; processing, transport, breakage, packaging and service life also matter. Record what is known, what is assumed and what would need measuring before making a wider claim.
Greenthing and Kitengela Glass provide examples of glass-related creative work in Kenya. Their project descriptions do not specify every recycled-glass product.
